About Bohni

Bohni (بوہنی) is Urdu for the first sale of the day — the daily ritual treated as a sign of good luck in Pakistani shop culture. It's also the name we chose for an app that's about one thing: helping you get paid for what you sold.

Built for businesses that run on credit

Most khata apps are built for the corner-shop shopkeeper — a small one-off debt, settled in cash, done. That's not your day. Your customers are never at zero. You have agents going out on a daily beat. Your promises happen on the phone, not from an invoice due date. Post-dated cheques are everywhere — and half of them won't clear on time.

Bohni is built around how youactually work. Voice notes everywhere so typing in a noisy market doesn't slow your team down. WhatsApp-first messaging from your own number, because automated SMS from a shortcode gets ignored. Cheque photos with auto-fill, because every dealer hands you cheques every week and you forget which one is which. Daily collection sheet on the agent's phone, with live progress on the owner's dashboard.

Your data, secured

Every connection is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with argon2id — the modern standard — and never stored in plain text. Backups run automatically every night to a separate location, so nothing is one disk failure away from being lost.

Only people you've added as users can access your account, and access is scoped by role (owner, cashier, agent). Your customers' phone numbers, balances and cheque images are never shared, sold or rented to anyone. Ever. If you ever want to leave, we'll hand you a full export of your data and delete every trace from our systems on request.
